Like every year, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Guangzhou organised an event for the Polish community, which this time was also an occasion to bid farewell to Consul General Ms Joanna Skoczek whose mission in Guangzhou is coming to an end, as well as to get acquainted with Mr Adam Bralczyk who is going to be the new Consul General from 1 December 2018.

On Saturday 24 November, almost one hundred Polish citizens with families living in our consular district came to the MXQ Art Space Gallery located in an elegant part of the city. With Czesław Niemen’s songs in modern jazzy renditions playing in the background, we were able to spend a nice evening with close friends, as well as to get to know Poles who have just recently settled in China. The event was an occasion to chat and share practical information, and for the children – to play with others, using the Polish language.

As usual, guests could enjoy traditional Polish dishes such as bigos stew, boiled vegetable salad, pierogi, gingerbread, as well as Polish ham, sausages and pretzels, which for many was the first contact with Polish food after a long time.

The event once again proved how well-integrated the Polish community living in our consular district is.
